What is it?
Micro Clean is a biological stain and odour digester that will effectively degrade organic soiling such as urine & spilt beverages etc, from absorbent surfaces and fabrics.
Why should I use it?
Unlike many cleaners, Micro Clean works by digesting & permanently eradicating the source of the soiling. It is non-toxic, biodegradable and it will not harm the environment.
How does it work?
To explain this you need to understand a little about the bio-technology. Conventional cleaners contain surfactants which lower the surface tension of water to enable cleaning to take effect. Soaps and detergents are typical surfactants. They can remove visible soiling but may not eliminate odours or deep clean the soiled item. As well as containing surfactants and a pleasant perfume, Micro Clean contains specially selected micro-organisms. Now, imagine a necklace of plastic poppers. These represent molecules that form the waste matter. The special bacterial strains go to work by secreting enzymes that break the bonding between the beads (molecules), separating them into particles of waste that are more accessible for the bacteria to "eat". Each bacterium having absorbed this food becomes large enough to become two identical bacteria, and this process of eating and replication continues for as long as there is soiling (or food) available. When the soiling (food) is depleted the bacteria die, leaving a clean odour-free area.
Are all bacteria strains the same?
No. There are many different strains of bacteria & Bio-Productions have selected those most suited to resolving specific cleaning problems. Micro Clean has been specially formulated to deal with organic soiling typically associated with spilt foods & beverages as well as urine which causes long-term odour problems in washrooms, care homes, and in the home, especially from children and pets.
What types of stains and smells does it work with?
Micro Clean's bacteria will digest all types of organic soiling such as caused from urine, blood, vomit, milk, wine and fruit juices. These are examples that are notoriously hard to eliminate with conventional cleaning methods, especially when absorbed into carpeting and porous flooring.
Will it work with dried on stains and severe soiling?
Yes. As long as there is organic matter to degrade & Micro Clean is applied as directed the bacteria will continue to work.
How long does it take to work?
Bacterial action takes a little time because the bacteria digest the problem - they can't wipe it away. Once a colony (biomass) is established though, the bacteria quickly get to work degrading the soiling, penetrating right to the core of the problem, reducing staining and odours.
Does Micro Clean smell?
Micro Clean contains a pleasant perfume that will immediately block any unpleasant odours.
Is Micro Clean supplied ready to use?
No. Micro Clean is stable in storage but it needs to be activated with water by dilution before use.
Should Micro Clean be diluted then?
Yes. Micro Clean is only activated by diluting with cool or tepid water at a ratio of at least 1:1 and should be used within 3 - 4 hours, as the bacteria will die off if not exposed to some food, (the source of organic soiling).
How do I apply Micro Clean?
For general use diluted up to 10:1. This solution should be applied to the contaminated area with a sponge or swab (do not scrub) and covered with a damp cloth for about 4-6 hours. Bacteria need warm, wet conditions in order to thrive and multiply. Remove the cloth and allow the treated area to dry naturally. Dilute up to 20:1 to maintain clean odour-free floor & wall tiles in washrooms. Pour a little directly into sink & urinal outlets to combat odours and blockages. Leave to work overnight and flush with warm water the next morning.
Can Micro Clean be sprayed?
We do not recommend this. Micro Clean needs to be allowed to fully penetrate the contaminated area and a spray application is less likely to deliver & penetrate the soiling sufficiently. This is evident when treating deep piled carpets or tightly woven fabrics for example. Whilst not classified as hazardous, the mist from a spray application may be inhaled, or come into contact with exposed skin and the risk of irritation is increased.
Can Micro Clean be used to clean mould and alga?
Yes. Micro Clean will remove and prevent the return of mould and alga on walls and paths. It will also remove black mould in shower cubicles, changing room areas and locker rooms.
Is Micro Clean a unique product?
Micro Clean is unique as it contains bacterial strains not in other digesters. It has been in production since the early 1990's, and the formula has been perfected to specifically target soiling from body spillages, beverages, food soiling etc, outlined above. Comparisons are difficult for the layman because it is not possible to identify strains of bacteria without special equipment but we are confident there is nothing to compare to Micro Clean - anywhere.
Is it expensive?
Biological products are sold at differing prices primarily because of the variation in the content & quality of the bacteria and or enzymes. However, biological products can resolve cleaning problems that just cannot be cured with conventional technology, so prices are probably not relevant. However, we at Bio-Productions do not believe this technology should be more expensive because it is unique and therefore believe all our products provide value for money.
